ZÆD: SOFT BELAY BRAKE ASSISTANT FOR CLIMBERS WITH WEIGHT DIFFERENCE

Performs very well at a 34kg weight difference on max setting. We did multiple tests of falling from and above the first bolt to fine tune position and stance and test safety. Really good. Enables me to lead climb with my daughter when otherwise it just wasn’t possible or safe. Highly recommended!

The new version is lighter and has now even the ability to assist with falls at the first bolt: a big advantage! Everything else is as good as it gets with such advices: no rope drag and soft catches are possible. My partner and i, who have a weightdifference of almost 20 kg use it often and are perfectly happy.

Habe viel verglichen, gefällt mir persönlich bis jetzt am besten am aktuellen Markt. Fein justierbar, leicht und gut dynamisch.

My wife is 43kg and I am 74kg. This devise levels that difference and lets us climb as if we are the same weight.

We were debating between the Zaed and the Ohm/Ohmega, in the end we went with the Zaed since it was lighter and has no moving parts. The zaed works wonderfully, me weighing 85kg can easily be belayed by someone of 55kg and up now. Making very big falls could still pull the belayer up, but it makes it much more comfortable for both climbers.

Im 30kg lighter than my partner (60kg vs 90kg) and saves me so much! Helps majorly with lowering aswell. Still sticks when the climber yanks too quick but doesn't stay stuck. Best used on vertical walls as when place under a ledge on overhangs, does stick. Solved that by placing up higher up bolt. Still majorly prefer over the ohm / omega which is the devil reincarnated.

Light, easy, works just like what you want. A little bit (or more) of smooth resistance that doesn't get in the way of climbing. No short roping or difficultly getting it to let go so that you can go back to climbing after a fall.

ZAED ist für uns ideal um den Gewichtsunterschied auszugleichen. Die Handhabung ist sehr einfach und der Vorsteiger bekommt das Seil immer gut, kein häkeln. Das ZAED Pro ist leichter als das erste ZAED. Kann ich nur empfehlen

Kleiner und leichter als der Vorgänger- ansonsten immer noch ein super Handling, dass auch dynamisches Sichern ermöglicht

My climbing partner is 110kg to my 65kg, and after being dragged into the wall so often despite his Ohm, I o appreciate the gentle treatment afforded by the Zaed. He notices the difference too - it is a much less jerky experience all round! We use it on the highest setting but I haven’t had a chance to test out the other levels yet (my other regular partner is away for the summer - he’ll probably need the level 2 setting).

Since I bought it a couple of months ago I have had at least one person coming up to me to ask about it at every climbing session - it’s size and compactness always impress anyone who has used the Ohm.

We've only experimented with the Zaed for one session so far, but it seems really effective, and we're very pleased with it. Great design!

Bon produit qui fait ce qu'on attends de lui. Je l'utilise essentiellement en moulinette pour l'instant car la différence de poids avec mon fils est au-delà des recommandations (32kg/75kg) mais ça fonctionne. Je n'ai jamais utilisé de système concurrent mais en tout cas je n'ai pas ressenti de difficulté pour tirer du mou en grimpe en tête comme j'ai pu le lire pour d'autres systèmes et le freinage est vraiment souple et ne sèche pas le grimpeur.

If the climber is significantly heavier than the belayer, this device is a must. It saves the climber's ankles from hard impact and preserves belayer's neck from being broken by buttheading with a heavier climber. While creating necessary resistens, this device gives much softer catches than OM. So far I am happy with it.

The device works perfectly. No drag, soft catches.

I tested the Ohm and didn’t like it. On the same trip, I met a climbing instructor who introduced me to the Zaed. He convinced me immediately!
